User Guidelines
•
Up to five backup configuration files are supported on the device.
•
The location of a file system dictates the format of the source or destination URL.
•
The entire copying process may take several minutes and differs from protocol to protocol and
from network to network.
•
*.prv and *.sys files cannot be copied.
Understanding Invalid Combinations of Source and Destination
Some invalid combinations of source and destination exist. Specifically, you cannot copy if one
of the following conditions exist:
•
The source file and destination file are the same file.
•
xmodem: is the destination file. The source file can be copied to image, boot and null: only.
•
tftp:// is the source file and destination file on the same copy.

Copying an Image File from a Server to Flash Memory
To copy an image file from a server to flash memory, use the copy source-url image command.
Copying a Boot File from a Server to Flash Memory
To copy a boot file from a server to flash memory, enter the copy source-url boot command.

Configuration and Image Files
Boot file on one of the units. To copy from the master to all units, specify * in the
member field.
Null destination for copies or files. A remote file can be copied to null to
determine its size.
Represents the backup configuration file.This is a user-defined name for up to
four backup configuration files.
Description
For network transfers, indicates that the copy process is taking place. Each
exclamation point indicates successful transfer of ten packets (512 bytes each).
For network transfers, indicates that the copy process timed out. Generally, many
periods in a row means that the copy process may fail.
