Peel the tape that secures the hard-drive cable to the battery. Open the latch and disconnect the hard-drive cable from the system board. Remove the four screws (M2x3) that secure the battery to the palm rest and keyboard assembly. Lift the battery off the palm rest and keyboard assembly. Press and hold the power button for five seconds to ground the system board.

Place the computer on the edge of a table so that the palm rest and keyboard assembly is on the table and the display assembly extends past the table edge with the display hinges facing up.
