T e x t e n t r y 3. Text entry You can use two methods for entering text and numbers: standard mode and predictive text mode. ■ Standard mode Standard mode is the only way to enter text into the contacts list, and to rename caller groups.
Enter text The illustration below simulates your display each time a key is pressed. For example, to write Nokia with predictive text on and with the English dictionary selected, press each of the following keys once: • Press 0 to enter a space and begin writing the next word.

Insert symbol—Insert a special character into your message. Matches—View matches found in the dictionary for the word you want to use.
M e s s a g e s 2. Select the setting you wish to change: Priority—Set the priority of the note. Delivery note—A note is sent to you confirming delivery of the message. Send callback number—Include your callback number in a text message. Change other settings When the message memory is full, your phone cannot send or receive any new messages.

Multimedia message objects may contain viruses or otherwise be harmful to your device or PC. Do not open any attachment if you are not sure of the trustworthiness of the sender.

M e s s a g e s Automate voice mail You can insert special characters called dialing codes into phone numbers such as voice mail, and save the number to a 1-touch dialing location. Dialing codes instruct the receiving system to pause, wait, bypass, or accept the numbers that follow them in the dialing string.
M e s s a g e s 4. Refer to dialing codes and enter any codes as necessary using the information that you wrote down from "Write down voice mailbox number and process," p. 37. For example, if you pause for 5 seconds after connecting to voice mail, enter p twice after the voice mailbox number, for example, 2145551212pp.
C a l l l o g 5. Call log Call log stores information about your last 30 missed, received, and dialed calls respectively and adds the total duration of all calls. When the number of calls exceeds the maximum, the most recent call replaces the oldest. Whether viewing missed, received, or dialed calls, select Options to access these...

C o n t a c t s 6. Contacts The contacts list can hold up to 500 contacts, with multiple numbers and text notes for each contact. The amount of numbers and text entries that you can save may vary, depending on length and the total number of entries in the contacts list.

G a l l e r y 7. Gallery You can save pictures and ringing tones to folders in the gallery, or create folders of your own and save them there. You can also download images and tones using web sites. Note: Only devices that offer compatible multimedia message or e-mail features can receive and display multimedia messages.
M e d i a 8. Media ■ Radio Your phone has an FM radio that also functions as an alarm clock radio. To listen to the FM radio on your phone, connect a headset to the connector on the top of the phone.
M e d i a To adjust the radio volume, press the upper volume key to increase or lower volume key to decrease the volume. When an application that uses a browser connection sends or receives data, it may interfere with the radio. When you place or receive a call, the radio automatically mutes.

Settings Use this menu to set or change your profiles, personal shortcuts, call settings, phone settings, time and date settings, display settings, tone settings, voice commands, enhancement settings, security settings, network, network services, and to restore the factory settings.
S e t t i n g s Set a timed profile Timed profiles can be used to prevent missed calls. For example, suppose you attend an event that requires your phone be set to Silent before the event starts, but you forget to return it to Normal until long after the event.

S e t t i n g s Phone language setting affects the time and date formats of the clock, alarm clock, and calendar. Automatic keyguard You can set the keypad of your phone to lock automatically after a preset time delay (from 10 seconds to 60 minutes).

S e t t i n g s Screen saver If you have turned the screen saver on, then the screen saver is activated when no function of the phone is used after a preset period of time. Press any key to deactivate the screen saver.

S e t t i n g s Phone lock The phone lock feature protects your device from unauthorized outgoing calls or unauthorized access to information stored in the device. With phone lock activated, Phone locked is displayed each time you turn your device on or off. With the device locked, calls may still be possible to the official emergency number programmed into your device.
